Joe is best known for his nearly twenty-year long contribution of landscape work to the National Trust, and for his columns and articles in the British photographic press.

There are two Joe Cornish Galleries, in Northallerton and Stokesley, both market towns in North Yorkshire, England. Both galleries feature Joe's contemporary limited edition prints. The larger Northallerton gallery hosts exhibitions by other outstanding landscape photographers, and is the base for seminars and workshops. It is also the home of Joegraphic, which publishes and distributes Joe's cards and calendar to the retail market.
